CONNECTION REQUIRES A DIFFERENT KIND OF INTELLIGENCE
Build stronger relationships, make better decisions, and navigate uncertainty with confidence.
Why Kate
For more than 20 years, I’ve supported over 6,000 women and families through some of life’s most uncertain and emotionally demanding moments.
My clinical work with mothers gave me a front-row seat to something I couldn’t unsee. Again and again, I watched remarkably capable women discover that the skills that helped them succeed everywhere else—planning, predicting, analyzing, organizing and solving—didn’t always work in the moments that mattered most at home. When they relied on those skills in moments that required something different, they often found themselves more overwhelmed, less connected and less effective at creating the outcome they were working so hard to achieve.
Every day, I work with ambitious mothers and leaders navigating high expectations, competing demands, uncertainty and relationships that matter deeply to them—all while being expected to keep performing, making good decisions and showing up for the people who depend on them.
Like you, they’re looking for a way to build stronger relationships, make better decisions and stay present and grounded when there isn’t a clear answer.
They don’t need to become less capable, ambitious or strategic.
They need access to another kind of intelligence, too.
Hi, I’m Kate
AS FEATURED IN
WE’VE GOTTEN VERY GOOD AT SOLVING.
We plan. Predict. Analyze. Optimize. Fix.
But the moments that matter most don’t always need another solution.
A child who is falling apart. A team that has stopped talking. A relationship under strain. A decision without a clear answer.
When something matters to us, our instinct is often to solve harder. But when the challenge is relational, solving too quickly can keep us from seeing what’s actually happening.
Because connection changes what we know. And what we know changes what we solve.
Some moments need solving. Others need staying.
THE ANSWER ISN’T TO STOP SOLVING
It’s to become fluent in another kind of intelligence, too.

RELATIONAL INTELLIGENCE

Connect
We need both.
Fluency is knowing what the moment requires.
WHEN WE CAN ACCESS BOTH, EVERYTHING CHANGES.
IN OURSELVES
See more clearly, navigate uncertainty, and make decisions with greater confidence.
IN OUR RELATIONSHIPS
Listen differently, respond with more intention, and build greater trust and connection.
IN OUR LEADERSHIP
Get better information, make better decisions, and create the conditions for people to do their best work.
Connection changes what we know. And what we know changes what we solve.
HOW DO WE BUILD RELATIONAL INTELLIGENCE?
Relational Intelligence isn’t something you either have or don’t. It’s a set of capacities we can strengthen and learn to access, especially when uncertainty or discomfort pulls us toward reacting, fixing or controlling.
NOTICE What is actually happening? Separate what you know from the story your mind is creating.
REGULATE What is happening inside me?
Create enough internal safety to stay present instead of reacting simply to make the discomfort stop.
STAY Can I remain here without immediately fixing it?
Build the capacity to tolerate uncertainty, emotion and experiences you can’t control.
CHOOSE
What does this moment actually require?
Respond intentionally—with Strategic Intelligence, Relational Intelligence, or some combination of both.
See more clearly. Respond more intentionally. Connect more deeply.
Motherhood
Mom Fluencyâ„¢
For ambitious women who want to stay connected to themselves and their children, especially in the moments motherhood feels uncertain, overwhelming or impossible to solve.
LEADERSHIP & ORGANIZATIONS
Bring Relational Intelligence into the places where people lead, collaborate, make decisions and navigate uncertainty.
Kate’s keynotes help audiences see more clearly, strengthen connection, and make better decisions when solving alone isn’t enough.
